Afif was born on February 14, 1990, and grew up in Qatar. He started his football career at Al Sadd, where he made his debut in 2007. In just two seasons with the club, he scored 16 goals and helped the team win the league title twice.
In 2011, Afif moved to Al Rayyan SC, but returned to Al Sadd in 2015. During his time at the club, he continued to be a key player, scoring 23 goals in 68 appearances in all competitions.
Despite being one of the top strikers in the league, Afif's greatest achievement came during his final season with Al Sadd. In 2018, he scored 22 goals in 29 appearances in all competitions, helping the club win their first-ever Qatar Cup.
