In the year 2000, Boualem Khoukhi was one of the most exciting young talents in football. The Algerian striker had made a name for himself at his former club, AS Salé, where he scored 17 goals in just over 50 appearances. However, it wasn't until he moved to Qatar that Khoukhi really began to make his mark on the international stage.

In 2000, Khoukhi signed with Al Sadd SC, one of the top clubs in the Middle East. He quickly established himself as a key player for the team, scoring several crucial goals throughout the season. His performances were so impressive that he was named the Best Young Player in the league by FIFA in 2001.

Khoukhi's success continued into the following years, and he helped lead Al Sadd to two consecutive league titles in 2004 and 2005. He also scored a total of 68 goals in 121 games for the club during his time there.

One of Khoukhi's most memorable moments came in the 2005 AFC Champions League final against Guangzhou Evergrande FC. In a match that went down to extra time, Khoukhi scored a late goal to help Al Sadd win their first-ever Asian title. It was a moment that will always be remembered as one of the highlights of his career.

Despite his success with Al Sadd, Khoukhi has never managed to break through to the highest levels of European football. However, he remains one of the most talented strikers in the world, and his legacy as a player who brought joy to fans all over the region is something that will not soon be forgotten.
